48 Stalls on Jalan RE Martadinata Demolished

Standing on green open space, tens of street vendors’ stalls along Jalan RE Martadinata, precisely beside BMW Park, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta, are demolished by 140 joint personnel from Satpol PP, TNI, and police. To ease the demolition, one backhoe is deployed.

“More and more stalls increased gradually. That’s why we demolished them to return the green open space’s function as a park,” stated Head of North Jakarta Satpol PP, Partono, Monday (8/25).

A total of 48 stalls which located under Tanjung Priok Toll until traffic light near the railway on Jalan Sunter Permata are demolished. The demolition runs smooth without resistance from the street vendors who were on Friday (8/22) had received demolition warrant from the officers.

“After this, our men will guard the location and coordinate with North Jakarta Parks Sub-Department. We will also involve personnel from TNI and police to prevent the street vendors from coming back,” told Partono.
